About Me

About me

I have been in the IT industry for 16 years now and this is my 6th year working in education. I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business-Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Networking. I am also a Google Certified Educator.

I enjoy figuring out how to use new technology and playing with the latest and greatest devices and gizmos. Before joining the TechCo I worked in Marquette, Michigan for a telecommunications company doing everything from network design and maintenance to CCTV and security systems. I also performed side jobs for the Negaunee Police Department and private individuals. As you can imagine, I am the 'computer repair guy' for family and friends, a job title I don't mind having at all! The way I see it, the more things I get to work on, the more practice and experience I gain. Plus it always makes people happy to have their technology problems fixed and they call me nice names instead of bad ones!

In my free time I'm an avid disc golfer. I also write novels and short stories. I even have a few for sale on Amazon. During the autumn months a lot of my free time is spent hunting ducks and grouse. I have three daughters who I also enjoy spending time with. They're already turning into geeks like their old man, so at least some of my interests are wearing off on them (unfortunately they have taken to their mother's taste in music instead of mine). Other interests include astronomy, writing and recording music (I used to play in a metal band called Pseudocell), graphic & web design, reading, kayaking, football, fishing, video gaming and playing tabletop games. I love card games and deck-builders, Star Realms being my favorite.

I am always interested in learning new things about technology and sharing the knowledge I've already gained. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have.
